QUINN-energy has been operating successfully since it's beginning in 1994. Realising the potential of renewable energy at an early stage, it has led by example and has continuously invested to ensure it has become a market leader in this sector. Interests currently include windfarm development and landfill gas utilisation. Quinn Energy is always investigating alternative opportunities. Today, it is in the planning stages of further development within this area.
The move into Conventional Gas Power Generation is another major step for Quinn Energy. With planning permission in place for its 450MW CCGT (Combined Cycle Gas Turbine) in Toomes, County Louth, gas generation will equate to 8% of Ireland's energy efficiency requirements in 2011. The state of the art facility will replace the need for older and less efficient power plants and will ensure a significant contribution to wealth generation in the local economy at the same time.
